Funding for Food/Lei for Training Events

Requests can be made for up to $300 for food and/or lei to support your professional development events. Applications will be reviewed by the ICTL Advisory Board members for relevancy and reasonableness. Notification of results will be sent via email.

On-Island or Online Training

Is there an online or on-island conference, class, workshop, or learning institute you would like to attend?

Apply for up to $500 in funds from the Innovation Center for Teaching and Learning.

  • All active employees (faculty, staff, and lecturers that are teaching at least 1 credit this semester) are eligible to apply.
  • Maximum award will be $500 per person (exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis).
  • Employees will only be funded for one (1) professional development experience per academic year. Funds must be used by June 30.
  • More than one employee can attend the same event.
  • To be considered for funding, the evidence must show that the professional development clearly relates to the primary duties of your position at Leeward and supports your contributions to the college.
  • Awardees will be expected to share knowledge gained from the experience either via a workshop, talk story session, infographic, division meeting, or other means to share lessons learned with colleagues.

Travel Grant Awards

The Innovation Center for Teaching and Learning (ICTL) reviews and awards applications for off-island travel that supports your professional development. Awards of up to $3000 to attend trainings and/or conferences can be granted per traveler per year. This is a competitive grant and there is no guarantee of award.
